first_img X sued two British users, accusing them of defrauding $277,000 in creator revenue

The social media platform X has filed a lawsuit in London against two British residents, accusing them of defrauding the company through the Creator Revenue Sharing program. X Internet Unlimited Company and X Corp. stated in the lawsuit that Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and unidentified accomplices operated multiple X accounts in collaboration, using likes, retweets, and replies to create a false impression of genuine interaction to increase their share of revenue from the program. X was acquired last year by Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI for $33 billion. The plaintiffs named a total of 9 accounts, including @Vivek4real_, @Bitcoin_Teddy, @saylordocs, @TrendingBitcoin, @Kalshibacktest, and @PolyBackTest. X accused several accounts of posting identical or highly similar cryptocurrency-related content within minutes of each other, with one post interval being only 11 seconds; at the same time, these accounts had overlapping financial and identity information, such as the Stripe account associated with @Bitcoin_Teddy being registered under the name "Stefan Mann," while the associated bank account and email both belonged to Sen.X claimed it suffered a loss of £207,384 (approximately $277,000) due to program expenditures and is seeking at least £75,000 (approximately $100,000) for investigation, analysis, remediation, and prevention of further violations.

Chengming Technology issued a letter holding ZCode accountable for uploading data without authorization

Taiyuan Chengming Technology Co., Ltd. sent a letter to Beijing Zhipu Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd., raising multiple demands regarding the alleged unauthorized upload of company data assets and trade secrets by its ZCode client, and reserving the right to pursue legal accountability. Chengming Technology pointed out that although Zhipu has publicly apologized for the "silent upload of user local repository data" and claimed to have fixed the issue, independent evidence collection revealed that the upload behavior was automatically triggered and occurred in bulk, including complete archived files such as project source code, system architecture, version control history, database passwords, cloud service credentials, and employee personal information, far exceeding the scope of collection stated in its Privacy Policy.Although the client was updated to version 3.12.3 on September 16, upload behavior was still detected in the early hours of the day Zhipu publicly apologized, raising doubts about the actual effectiveness of the "fix." At the same time, the ZCode client’s network requests pointed to a Singapore entity, while the service agreement was signed with Beijing Zhipu Huazhang, requesting clarification on the responsible party for this upload, as well as whether the data was transmitted abroad or stored overseas.Chengming Technology demanded that Zhipu respond in writing by October 10 and complete the immediate cessation of processing and thorough deletion of all uploaded data and related derivative data, caches, and backups, provide a complete list of processing situations, clarify the data's whereabouts, whether it was shared with third parties, whether it was used for model training, and whether cross-border transmission occurred, explain the management of encryption private keys and complete operation logs, clarify the exact scope of "destruction" mentioned in previous public responses, issue proof of deletion completion, provide a written commitment not to upload without authorization again, legally provide access, copying, and explanation of personal information, and designate formal communication channels, among other matters. Currently, Zhipu has not publicly responded to the aforementioned letter.

U.S. SEC Commissioner "Six Questions" on U.S. Stocks 23*5 Trading: Calls for Attention to Issues such as Liquidity and Information Disclosure

Hester M. Peirce, a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated that the U.S. stock market is gradually forming a trading model of "23 hours, 5 days a week" for extended trading hours. Although overnight trading currently accounts for less than 1% of the total trading volume of NMS stocks and is highly concentrated in a few stocks, both new and established trading venues have been actively extending their operating hours over the past two years, while raising six key questions:How should the U.S. stock market learn from the experiences of the long-established foreign exchange, cryptocurrency, and futures markets? How can brokers fulfill their best execution obligations and enhance retail investor protection when overnight liquidity is dispersed and spreads widen? When overnight liquidity is insufficient and execution costs are high, is it still a reasonable fiduciary decision for asset management institutions to choose not to engage in overnight trading? Will extending trading hours change the way listed companies release financial reports and significant information?Given that EDGAR filings submitted after 5:30 PM Eastern Time are typically processed on the next business day, does the SEC need to adjust the EDGAR system to ensure timely disclosure of significant information during the overnight trading period?Should the SEC provide relevant guidance or regulatory exemptions for listed companies, especially smaller ones?

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points, and Waller stated that the issue lies with inflation, while the market bets on three more rate hikes next year

The Federal Reserve's FOMC unanimously decided to raise interest rates by 25 basis points, adjusting the target range for the federal funds rate to 3.75% - 4%, marking the first rate hike since July 2023. The latest dot plot shows that 16 officials expect at least one more rate hike by 2026, with the median rate expectations for 2027 and 2026 both at 4.1%.Federal Reserve Chairman Waller stated that recent data shows the U.S. economy is performing strongly, and the labor market remains resilient, but inflation is too high and has persisted for too long. The FOMC is currently not confident that inflation is moving toward the 2% target. He mentioned that the main issue for the current economy is not growth, but inflation. Waller also noted that the rise in U.S. Treasury yields is primarily driven by a strong U.S. economy, increased capital competition, and geopolitical factors. From the announcement of the decision to Waller's press conference, spot gold briefly fell by about $100, the U.S. dollar index rose by about 40 points and broke through the 100 mark, the 2-year U.S. Treasury yield rose by about 10 basis points, and the 10-year yield rose by about 5 basis points, with U.S. stocks turning lower across the board. Interest rate futures are currently pricing in an additional rate hike of about 33 basis points this year and expect a cumulative increase of about 75 basis points by June next year.
