WSJ: Iran's sanctions evasion network transfers funds through Binance, with a total transaction amount involved reaching 850 million USD

According to a report by the WSJ, a previously undisclosed internal investigation report from Binance shows that Iranian financier Babak Zanjani used affiliated companies, shell companies, and multiple trading accounts to transfer funds through Binance, establishing a funding channel for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to evade Western sanctions. The related network involves 21 individual and corporate trading accounts, with a total trading volume of approximately $850 million, of which at least $67 million flowed from two accounts to wallets associated with the IRGC.The report indicates that Tajik businessman Sukhrob Oimakhmadov, classified as a "high-value customer" by Binance, received over $10 million through his account, with sources including digital wallets later identified by the Israeli Ministry of Defense as belonging to the IRGC. The cryptocurrency platform Zedcex, associated with Zanjani, had a total trading volume close to $830 million, with approximately $56 million withdrawn to related wallets. The network also involves the Turkish payment company ZedPay, as well as the cryptocurrency token USDZ used for trading.Binance stated that it has identified the related activities and taken measures, with all accounts associated with sanction violations being restricted from trading and gradually closed. The company also emphasized that the total trading volume of accounts does not equal the actual funds flowing into the IRGC and acknowledged past procedural issues in internal approvals and execution timeliness. The U.S. Department of the Treasury had previously imposed sanctions on Zanjani and related companies and individuals.

first_img Robinhood Chain evaluates the paid trading ranking system, with technical support from Arbitrum

According to CoinDesk, the Layer 2 blockchain Robinhood Chain, designed for tokenizing real-world financial assets, is evaluating a transaction sorting system that allows users to pay fees for prioritizing specific transactions. This technology is developed by Arbitrum, the infrastructure provider for Robinhood Chain. Insiders say that Arbitrum's previously launched paid transaction sorting technology, Time Boost, could provide users with a 200-millisecond prioritization advantage, but it was replaced on September 24 by the new Priority Gas Auctions model, which allows traders to pay higher fees to prioritize individual transactions. This new version is what Robinhood Chain is currently evaluating.Currently, Robinhood Chain employs a first-come, first-served transaction sorting strategy and has not yet utilized Arbitrum's original Time Boost application. Since launching its Ethereum-compatible network in July, Robinhood Chain has rapidly gained popularity and has entered the top ten blockchains ranked by total locked value. Robinhood's traditional brokerage business has long profited through "payment for order flow," where market makers pay brokers for the routing rights of customer orders. The mechanism of on-chain paid transaction prioritization operates differently; it provides advantages to traders by accelerating transaction processing speeds, helping professional institutions compete for fleeting trading opportunities.

first_img T. Rowe Price Digital Asset Head: Bitcoin has become the core of discussions on currency devaluation

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Blue Macellari, the head of digital assets at asset management giant T. Rowe Price, stated in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine that Bitcoin has now become the central topic of discussion regarding currency devaluation. She pointed out that bond vigilantes are making a comeback, U.S. Treasury financing is shifting from foreign buyers to domestic buyers, and the debt situations in Japan and Italy are not comparable to the U.S. buyer base.Macellari has 20 years of experience in emerging market sovereign debt and distressed debt investment, and later was responsible for establishing T. Rowe Price's digital asset business. In the interview, she reviewed the evolution of internal discussions on digital assets within the institution, the considerations for launching actively managed multi-token ETFs, and discussed the trends of asset management tokenization and automation, as well as the liquidity fragmentation risks brought by 24/7 trading.Additionally, Macellari assessed whether the demand for stablecoins under the GENIUS Act represents a substantive change or is merely wishful thinking, and she believes that devaluation trading has indeed driven institutional allocation to Bitcoin. She also stated that volatility can serve as a portfolio tool, and there are significant generational differences in Bitcoin allocation.

DGrid AI Arena launches Points-to-$DGAI, strengthening the community-driven AI model evaluation network

The decentralized AI infrastructure project DGrid AI announced that its community-driven AI model evaluation platform DGrid AI Arena has launched the Points-to-$DGAI redemption mechanism. Users can earn points by participating in AI model evaluations and redeem them for $DGAI, further connecting user participation, model feedback, and ecological incentives. It is reported that since its launch, DGrid AI Arena has attracted over 570,000 users to participate in reviews, generating more than 2.5 million model evaluation votes. The platform employs an anonymous model battle mechanism, where users compare two sets of AI outputs and choose the better response, continuously accumulating evaluation data from real scenarios.DGrid stated that AI Arena is not only a model evaluation and community incentive platform but also the community intelligence layer within the DGrid AI ecosystem. By continuously gathering real user preference signals across different tasks, the platform can more accurately understand the performance of different models in specific scenarios, further optimizing model selection and routing mechanisms, making AI services more aligned with real user needs.Previously, DGrid AI's native token $DGAI has been listed on Binance Alpha and several exchanges such as OKX and Bybit, further promoting the ecological application and community participation of $DGAI.
