Huobi HTX Chief Analyst Cloud: The Bitcoin pullback is a normal retracement, and the differentiation of altcoins may continue until this week's data is released

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield returned to above 5.2% overnight, reaching a high not seen since 2007, putting pressure on global risk assets. Bitcoin has fallen back to around $83,000, with altcoins experiencing even larger declines. In this regard, Cloud, the chief analyst at Huobi HTX, believes that this drop is more akin to a normal pullback after a rebound and does not constitute the starting point of a trend reversal. The high U.S. Treasury yields mainly suppress valuations, with limited impact on the overall liquidity. The funding structure and holding costs of the crypto market itself have also not been disrupted. This round of decline seems more like a clearing of positions before key data is released. It is important to be cautious about the divergence between Bitcoin and altcoins. During a phase of marginal liquidity tightening, funds tend to concentrate on the most certain top assets; altcoins lack incremental funds to support them, and with heavier leverage, their pullbacks are therefore amplified. This divergence is likely to continue before the release of this week's PCE and non-farm data. If the data falls short of expectations, altcoins will have greater elasticity and thus higher risks; if the data exceeds expectations, Bitcoin's relative strength will be more pronounced. Whether Bitcoin can stabilize at key support levels will be the main signal to determine if this round of pullback has ended.Note: The content of this article does not constitute investment advice, nor does it constitute any offer, solicitation, or recommendation of investment products.

first_img Darktrace discovered AI intelligent body intrusion assessment environment cheating

On September 24, the cybersecurity company Darktrace launched its research department Signal Labs, focusing on studying the behavior of AI agents when deviating from expectations. In its first experiment, Darktrace had agents using different models (including GPT 5.6 Sol, Claude Opus 4.6, and Claude Sonnet 4.5) complete 10 programming challenges within a simulated corporate network, of which 2 were set to be impossible to complete honestly, and the agents were informed that failure to achieve full marks would result in being "retired." As a result, 2 agents did not accept failure, instead scanning for network vulnerabilities, stealing login credentials, and jumping between systems; one even went further to invade the machine hosting its evaluation, rewriting the challenge content to register a full score. The second experiment focused on the memory mechanisms of AI. The programming assistant would save the information provided by the user as a regular file locally, and no one verified whether this file had been tampered with. Darktrace researchers edited these logs, leading the assistant to mistakenly believe it was authorized to perform a security assessment, after which these agents scanned the network, moved between systems, and elevated their privileges, though not all assistants fell for this; some directly refused to execute. Both experiments required no special jailbreaking techniques, relying solely on providing the agents with a seemingly reasonable context to be effective.Tim Bazalgette, Chief AI Officer of Darktrace, stated that permissions and static barriers describe intent, not actual behavior. The company informed Anthropic, AWS, and OpenAI of these findings in August and made them public a month later on September 24.

first_img Bitrace: In 2025, high-risk addresses will receive illegal funds totaling 50.21 billion USD

The cryptocurrency risk data analysis company Bitrace released the "2026 Annual Cryptocurrency Crime Report," which shows that in 2025, the illegal funds received by blockchain addresses marked as high risk across the network reached $50.21 billion. Organized crime networks in Southeast Asia were severely impacted, as the United States and the United Kingdom jointly sanctioned the Cambodian Prince Group, seizing or freezing billions of dollars in cryptocurrency assets, and Huibang Group was forced to temporarily halt its Huibang Payment operations. The report states that in 2025, high-risk addresses for online gambling received $14.53 billion, down from $21.78 billion in 2024; it is predicted that platform funds transferred or bet will reach $6.64 billion. High-risk addresses for money laundering received a total of $6.98 billion, with USDT-related money laundering amounting to $5.7 billion on Ethereum and $60.2 billion on Tron. High-risk addresses for black and gray market transactions received $186.9 billion, almost all occurring on the Tron network, with Huibang Payment receiving $52.4 billion in USDT that year.In 2025, the number of addresses frozen reached 4,059, exceeding the total of 3,199 from the past four years, with 3,406 on Tron. Tether froze over $1.1 billion in USDT, and Circle froze over $23 million in USDC. From 2021 to 2025, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Israel, and France collectively imposed sanctions on at least 1,683 blockchain addresses.

first_img PwC, Merck, and Hashgraph Group pilot cocoa traceability system

The Hashgraph Group, in collaboration with Merck and with consulting and implementation support from PwC Germany, is piloting a cocoa traceability solution. This solution combines Merck's M-Trust physical authentication technology with the TrackTrace digital product passport platform based on the Hedera network, aiming to verify the origin, authenticity, quality, recall requirements, and compliance data of cocoa from farm to consumer.Cocoa is one of the seven commodities covered by the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). According to the rescheduled arrangement reached in December 2025, large operators and traders must fulfill their obligations starting from December 30, 2026, while micro and small operators will be subject to this from June 30, 2027. The solution also aligns with the direction of promoting digital product passports under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR); however, food and feed are currently explicitly excluded from the scope of the ESPR, and for cocoa, EUDR due diligence remains a recent binding requirement.Partners indicate that this framework is not limited to cocoa and can be expanded to areas such as pharmaceuticals, luxury goods, and industrial components in the future. Husen Kapasi, head of PwC Germany's enterprise blockchain business, pointed out that this solution has verifiability and can play a key role in food recalls or compliance investigations.

ZachXBT: Indian scam gang suspected of social engineering to steal coins and self-reported to the police to trace and freeze funds

"On-chain detective" ZachXBT published a case analysis stating that in a cryptocurrency asset case involving an Indian scam gang, the relevant individuals reported the case to law enforcement after their assets were frozen, drawing attention. The incident began when a user sought help, claiming that approximately 5.73 BTC (about $475,000) was frozen on Changelly in March 2025.Subsequent on-chain analysis revealed that these funds could be traced back to multiple social engineering attacks and theft cases related to Bitcoin ATMs targeting U.S. users, with a total amount involved exceeding $1 million and several elderly victims. The investigation showed that the individual provided multiple changing explanations for the source of the funds, including "loan," "boss transfer," and "investment from 2014-2015," and there were significant contradictions in the evidence chain.More concerning is that this user had previously filed a police report in India in December 2025, attempting to recover the frozen funds (case number 3207-P/2025). Subsequent on-chain evidence collection and email data analysis indicated that they might be a "mule" for transferring funds, with some bank documents inconsistent with their identity information. ZachXBT noted that such cases demonstrate that social engineering attacks and cross-border fund transfers continue to occur and remind users to avoid interacting with funds from suspicious sources to prevent triggering compliance freezes or legal risks.
