first_img Tavus claims that the Griffin model causes 48% of video call participants to mistakenly believe they are interacting with a real person

AI startup Tavus released a new model called Griffin on October 1, referring to it as the first "human interaction model" that can understand and generate face-to-face conversations, paying attention not only to wording but also to expressions and pauses. Tavus stated that in tests, after a one-minute video call with Griffin-Lite, 26 out of 54 participants (48%) believed the other party was a real person; its previous generation system only convinced 1 out of 41 participants.Participants were told they would have a one-minute video call with another person to discuss things they were looking forward to this year, and only at the end of the call were they asked if they suspected the other party was not a real person. Tavus noted that those who became suspicious typically noticed within 20 seconds. This result comes from Tavus's own research page, where participants were recruited through a channel they call an independent research platform. Community comments on X pointed out that these results have not been independently verified and do not meet standard protocols. In the NVIDIA VideoFDB benchmark, Tavus claimed Griffin-Lite ranked first, with a generation dimension score of 3.83, the next best system scoring 2.8, and human reference scoring 3.92; the perception dimension score was 3.73, with the strongest baseline at 3.44 and human reference at 4.2. Tavus stated that NVIDIA independently conducted this evaluation. Griffin supports full duplex, allowing it to listen, see, and speak simultaneously, with an average audio-video delay of 0.43 seconds on the NVIDIA H100 chip. Tavus completed a $40 million Series B funding round led by CRV in November 2025.

first_img Jeff Booth stated that the $1 million Bitcoin target is too small and believes that the dollar-denominated system is manipulated

Writer and author of "The Price of Tomorrow," Jeff Booth, stated in a video interview with Bitcoin Magazine that the price target of $1 million for Bitcoin is "thinking too small." He believes that pricing Bitcoin in a constantly depreciating fiat currency is equivalent to valuing it within a system manipulated by currency devaluation, making such a target invalid. In his view, Bitcoin is not just a token or an asset, but the beginning of a decentralized, secure, and privacy-focused protocol stack, which will ultimately resemble the internet, and it is also the first true free market in human history. In the interview, Booth also discussed AI valuation and technological deflation. He believes that a free market will drive the prices of AI services toward zero, and this deflationary force brought by AI will conflict with a monetary system built on debt. He mentioned the United States' debt of up to $40 trillion, bond yields, and a financial system that is approximately $350 trillion in size and essentially insolvent, linking AI singularity theory, market fear, and monopolistic regulation. In the longer-term section, Booth talked about the adoption timeline of Bitcoin and emphasized that Bitcoin is not just an asset. He also discussed the global expansion of Bitcoin payments and the circular economy, as well as ideas such as private equity supported by Bitcoin and permanently held enterprises, outlining a deflationary future priced in Bitcoin.

first_img Survey: 77% of Americans believe that cryptocurrency in retirement plans is risky

The latest survey by the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS) shows that 77% of Americans believe that cryptocurrencies in workplace retirement plans are risky, with 46% considering the risk to be extremely high, and 53% opposing employers offering cryptocurrencies as an investment option. The survey was conducted by Greenwald Research from October 24 to November 14, 2025, with a sample of 1,203 Americans aged 25 and older. The survey also revealed that 80% of respondents believe the U.S. is facing a retirement crisis, up from 67% in 2020; 61% expressed concern about achieving financial security in retirement, 68% believe it is becoming more difficult to prepare for retirement, and 77% stated that debt hinders adequate savings. Meanwhile, the Trump administration and federal regulators are pushing to expand access to alternative assets in retirement accounts. In May 2025, the U.S. Department of Labor rescinded previous guidance urging 401(k) fiduciaries to exercise "extreme caution" regarding cryptocurrency investments. Trump signed an executive order on August 7, 2025, directing the Department of Labor and the SEC to consider easing regulations. In March 2026, the Department of Labor proposed a draft rule allowing 401(k) plans to include alternative assets, but faced opposition from Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and others.
